The Signs and Labels feature contains a template for adding information to the wording required by OSHA. Sometimes you need to add an entire paragraph and figure out the best place to post the sign, as in the following situation:

Asbestos-containing plaster is on the ceiling in the lobby. You do not need to post a sign in the lobby or attach a label to the ceiling. Disturbance could occur when someone changes a light bulb in a fixture recessed in the ceiling. To reach the light fixture, he uses a ladder that is kept in a storage room down the hall. Put this sign in the room on the wall next to where the ladder is kept. Next to the sign, put the Locations & Precautions page that shows the plaster ceiling in the lobby.

The CCPA contains templates in Microsoft Word with the standard OSHA wording on top, space for your specific precautions below, and a block for contact information at the bottom.

This concludes the inter-active demonstration of the Customized Compliance Program for Asbestos. You are quite welcome to contact Andy Oberta, the creator of the CCPA, by e-mail-- or call (800) 668-1368 -- and ask him any questions you have. If you're ready to start -- Let's talk!
